Celebrate You!

For this Birthday card, I used the waste foil from the sympathy card I previous made.  I love using the waste foil and creating a reverse image that can be used for more cards!

I used the following for this card:

• Gina K Designs - Wild Wisteria, Oriental Fan Stencil, Master Layouts 1, Master Layouts 2
• Gina K Designs - Floral Friendship Stamps and Dies
• Gina K Designs - Sterling Silver Foil, Delicate Dahlias Dies, Poly Glaze Sheets, Delicate Dahlia "waste' foil.

To make the card, I foiled the "waste" foil using the Poly Glaze sheets.  These were then die cut.  The sentiment was stamped and die cut.  The large rectangle from ML 2 was used to cut the wild wisteria panel, which was then stenciled with Wild Wisteria ink using the Oriental Fan Stencil.  This was added to a white mat (cut using the largest rectangle from ML1).  All of the pieces were added to a Wild Wisteria card base to complete the card.

With Sympathy

I don't think anyone likes the reason for making sympathy cards, but they are cards that are needed from time to time.  

For this card I used the following:

To make the card, I foiled the Dahlia images and the sentiment.  The waste foil from the sentiment was then used with a plain poly glaze sheet.  The reverse image sentiment and flowers were then die cut.  The stencils were used to color the flowers.  Master Layouts 2 was used to cut a white panel and the mat.  The white panel was stenciled with Soft Stone using the Oriental Fan Stencil keeping the color mainly to the center of the panel.   The stenciled panel was added to the mat, and both were added to the card base.  The Dahlia flowers and sentiment were added to complete the card.

Frangipani Birthday Card

I really like layering stencils, they end up creating such pretty images!

To make the card, I stenciled the flower using the Orchid inks.  The leaves were added using the Natures Elements stencil.  The image was cut using the largest rectangle from Master Layouts 1  and added to the card base.  The sentiment was cut using Master Layouts 3 and added to the card.  Small round vinyl stickers were added to complete the card. 

Rose Postage Stamp Birthday Card

Here is another postage stamp card using The Ton dies and stencils.  I really like the layering stencils they have created for use with their postage stamp die.

To make the card, I used the Postage Party Die to create the stamp panel.  The stencils were used creating the images for each stamp of the panel.  The sentiment was stamped and the disco ball sequins added.  The stamp panel was matted and added to the card base to complete the card.

Wildflower Stems

After creating a velum version of the Wildflower Stems, I needed to create a version in color!

To make the card, I embossed the image on white card stock and colored using the stencils and inks.  It was then cut using Master Layouts 1 (along with the associated black mat).  The mat and image were added to the card base.  The sentiment was stamped, die cut and added to complete the card.

Happy Halloween

When I was the Scrap Stamp Art Tour show in Westminster Maryland,  I made a card front at the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps booth using Pan Pastels and one of their stamps.  When I got home, I made a mini slim line card using that panel.  This is the card I made:

To make the card, I die cut black and orange mats from Master Layouts 7.  I then manually cut the card front to fit in the black mat.  These were all attached to the card base.  The sentiment was then added to complete the card.

Wildflower Postage

I recently purchased from the Ton the postage dies and several stencils to use with the dies.  Since one of the Grandkids likes using blending brushes and layering stencils we chose to make a card using one of the stencils and dies.  They chose the ink colors, while I chose the mat color and the color of the card base. This is the card we made:

To make the card, the Postage Party Die was used to create the stamp panel.  The stencils and ink were then used to create the flowers for each stamp.  The postage amount was stamped, and the stamp panel added to the mat. The entire piece was added to a card base to complete the card.  

Wildflowers in vellum

I had this thought in my head, why not use a 3D embossing folder with vellum?  Would it work?  Would the vellum crack?  How would it look when made into a card?  Well, it did work, it did crack a bit (but not noticeable), and I made a very elegant looking 5x7 card!

To make this card I used:

• Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 20, Wildflower Stems Embossing Folder, Light Spruce Ink, Celebrate You Stamps and Dies

To make the card, I embossed the vellum using the 3D embossing folder.  I cut the frame using Master Layouts 20. The sentiment was stamped using light spruce and then die cut.  The embossed vellum was added to the frame. Spruce colored card stock was then added behind the vellum and the frame.  This was then added to the card base.  The sentiment was added using foam tape to complete the card.

Christmas Leaves and Berries

Remember that paper that you could sand after embossing and have a different color show?  Well I remember why I didn't like using it - its messy and takes longer than expected to get the right look.  Even with the mess and the time, I really like how this card came out!

I used the following for this card:

To make the card, dry embossed using the Serene Branches embossing folder.  I then sanded (and sanded) the piece until the underlying color appeared.  With the paper I chose, the green was a bit to pastel, so I ran a green ink pad over the embossed image to make it a more Christmas Green.  The image and gold panel were cut using Master Layouts 1.  These were added to the red card base.  The sentiment was stamped onto the gold paper, but it wasn't dark enough, so I stamped over it with Versamark, added black embossing powder and heat set.  This was then die cut and added to the card using foam tape to complete the card.

Ho Ho Ho

I used a moon stamp from an Autumn stamp set to make this Christmas card.  The idea of having Santa and his sleigh in front of the moon would be perfect for Christmas.

To make the card, I stamped the moon with the Stormy Sky ink.  Then using the stencil, I added the light gray ink - Soft Stone. The sky was then done with the blue inks, lightest to darkest.  The panel (and mat) was cut using Master Layouts 1, keeping the moon near the top of the panel.  Santa and his sleigh was stamped in black across the moon.  The trees and houses were added at the bottom  of the panel.  White Gold watercolor was splattered on the panel as stars in the night sky. The panel was added to the black mat, and the entire piece added to a gray card base.  The sentiment was stamped, die cut and added to complete the card. 

Color Cube Inspired

For this sympathy card, I wanted a sunset background.  So I selected one of the sunset combinations from my Color Cubes as inspiration, and found similar color inks.  

For this card, I used the following

To make the card, I placed the stencil on white card stock, and created the background using the inks that were chosen based on the Color Cube inspiration.  The flower image was stamped in black.  The image (and black mat) were then cut using Master Layouts 2.  The sentiment was added to the top corner.  The image was then added to the black mat and the entire piece added to the card base to complete the card.

Scarborough Fair

Yes, I was thinking of the song Scarborough Fair when I made this birthday card:

To make the card, I cut the stamp panel and mat from ML 15.  Using the ML15 stencil, Sea Glass was added to the edges of each stamp, making sure to leave the center of each white.  The parsley, sage, and rosemary images were stamped in various colors of green ink and colored using Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment was stamped and die cut.  I used the long stitched rectangle from ML 7 to die cut the green mat piece, which was then added to a slim line card base.  The stamp strip and sentiment were added to the card base to complete the card.

Happy 21st Birthday!

So one of the grandkids is turning 21 and planning on having their birthday dinner at a brewery.  I think this is an appropriate card for the occasion. This card was fairly simple to put together.  The main image was a print and cut from Cricut Design space.  The sentiment is one from Time Holtz Crazy Talk stamp set.

A Fathers Day card for my Husband an avid woodworker and tool collector! This is a mini-slimline card, one of my favorite sizes!

For this card, I used:

To make the card, I stamped the images from Mr. Fix-It, cut them with the associated dies and colored them with Copic markers.  I then cut the stamp panel from ML 15 along with the black mat.  The Fizzy Stencil was used on top of the ML 15 stencil to create a background for the tools. I added the tools to the stamp strip.  The background which looks like wood was created by scoring a piece of white card stock, and adding color directly from ink pads.  This piece was added to a card base with the stamp strip added on top.  A sentiment was added to complete the card.

Ruby Anniversary

So, this year was my Ruby (40th) Wedding Anniversary.  I knew that meant I needed to make a special card for my husband!   

For the card I used:

• Gina K Designs - Red Velvet Fancy Foil
• Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 1 and 4

To make the card, I foiled the Crystals and Gems Poly-Glaze sheet with the Red Velvet Foil.  The stitched heart from Master Layouts 4 was cut from the center of the foiled sheet. I then used the left over foil on a plain Poly-Glaze sheet. This sheet was then cut with Master Layouts 1, along with the white mat.  These two pieces were added to the card base.  The heart as then added, aligning it with the gems.  The sentiment was printed from my computer, trimmed, matted and added to the card.  Ruby gemstones were added to complete the card.

So I Woobled

When I was a young teenager I was very into crochet. But I haven't done it for many years.  SO when one of the grandkids asked me to help with an on-line pattern they found, I tried, but just could not remember how to read a pattern or even some of the basic stitches.  So I got some Woobles.  And now I remember how to read the patterns and the stitches.
