Taylored Expressions Create-In-Quads Snowflake

So I just had to give the Taylored Expressions Create-In-Quads stencils a try.  I got the snowflake one since Christmas was coming up and I needed something new for my cards.  I was surprised at how different each color combination ended up looking.  As a plus, I got 4 cards per color combination! I ended up using a variety of inks and sentiments,

I used the following for the cards:

  • Taylored Expressions - Create-In-Quads Snowflake Layering Stencil
  • Inks from Gina K, Altenew, Distress Oxides
  • Gina K Designs - Seasonal Greetings, Simple Snowflakes stamp sets
  • Lawn Fawn - Winter Scripty Sayings stamp set
  • Creative Expressions - Let It Snow die
  • Spellbinders - Oval dies
  • Versamark
  • Wow - Metallic Brass Embossing Powder
To make the cards, the snowflakes were stenciled using a variety of inks.  The panels were then cut apart for 4 cards.  The sentiments stamped or die cut in coordinating inks and papers.  The panels were matted and added to the card base to complete the cards.

Rainbow Thanks Card

Thanks to @czdesign for this idea!  I saw a very similar idea in one of her videos and and blog posts (see it here).  I also decided to use Cryogen Curious Metallic White paper which can handle a bit of water, has a little sparkle, and is whiter than the watercolor paper I have.  Its a paper I frequently use for Copic and Colored Pencil work.

I used the following for this card:

  • Taylored Expressions - Thanks die
  • Gansi Tambi Watercolors
  • Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 2
  • Gina K Designs - Angel Aura Rhinestones
  • Cryogen Curious Metallic White paper
To make the card, I cut the Thanks out 3 times.  These were then glued together.  I used a rainbow selection of the watercolors to apply to the background.  Once dry,  it was cut with one of the dies from Master Layouts 2.  The mat was also cut from a die in the same set.  These were then attached to the card base.  The rhinestones were added to complete the card.

My version of a Cathy Zielske Card.

When I saw this card on Cathy Zielske's blog, I knew I needed to recreate it.  I like Cathy's style, and this was a card that really caught my attention.  Here is my version of the card:

To make the card, I used:

  • Various colors of Distress Ink
  • Taylored Expressions - Ray Of Sunshine die
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Recollections - Foam Squares
  • The Sentiment was from an old set.
The Distress Ink was used like a watercolor and added to the watercolor paper.  This was then cut with the die.  I made sure that the pieces stayed in the die and purple tape was added to the back to keep everything in place when it was removed from the die.  I then used Glad Press n' Seal to hold all of the pieces in place from the front, and the purple tape removed.  Foam Squares were added to all of the pieces and the entire thing was added to an A2 size card base.  The frame was then removed leaving the rays in place.  The sentiment was added to complete the card.

Stenciled backgrounds (Gina K Designs)

I've watched even more of the Gina K Stamp & Chat videos, and made more cards inspired by one of the videos.  These have a stenciled background with a silhouette stamp in the foreground.  I really like how they came out!

I used the following for the cards:
  • Gina K - Watercolor Flowers Stamp Set
  • Gina K Stencil - Water Droplets
  • Picket Fence Studios Stencil - Floral Damask
  • Gina K Ink - Tangerine Twist, Red Velvet, Wild Lilac, Lucky Clover, Blue Lagoon, Black Onyx
  • Altenew Ink - Warm Sunshine

These were easy cards to make, I applied the ink through the stencils (for the watercolor droplets stencil, I kept it horizontal, but went in a diagonal direction for the Floral Damask stencil).  The flowers were added along with the sentiment.  The panel was matted with black card stock and added to the card base to complete the card.

I used my Taylored Expressions blender brushes again.  They made it so easy!

Blended backgrounds with Gina K

I've been inspired by Gina K's recent Stamp and Chat videos.  I made these cards based on one of the videos. I even used my Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes which I've had since Christmas, but I hadn't used.  Well I did for these cards!  What a difference the brushes make!  I'll be using them for all my blending in the future!

I used the following for the cards:

  • Gina K - Wild Blossoms Stamp Set
  • Gina K Ink - Jelly Bean Green, Blue Lagoon, Black Onyx
  • Altenew Ink - Warm Sunshine
  • Picket Fence Studios - Words to Say Happy Anniversary
  • Greenhouse Society - 06-12 set (Hi)

To make these cards, I masked the area where the ink would be added.  Using the blending brushes, I added the ink. The images and sentiments were stamped, and the panel matted with black card stock and added to the card base to complete the card.

You've got mail - Fall Card

When I saw this stamp from Taylored Expressions, I knew I had to have it!  Of course it took me a year or two before I used it to make a card!

I used the following for the card:

  • Ink on 3 Fadeout Ink
  • Impression Obsession - Wooden Plank Stamp
  • Taylored Expressions - You've Got Mail - Fall Stamp
  • Gina K designs Large and Small Rectangle Dies
  • Hero Arts - Sandstone Ink
  • Prismacolor Pencils
To make the card, I stamped the mailbox image on Kraft card stock with Fadeout Ink.  I then colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils. The image was then cut out with one of the large rectangle dies.  A slightly larger rectangle was cut out from a dark green card stock and the image was attached to the green rectangle.  The front of a dark orange card base was stamped with the Wooden Plank stamp.  The mailbox image was then to the card base to complete the card

Fathers Day Cards

Here are a few of the Fathers Day cards I've made.

The cards a 4 x 5.25.  The cards were made with the following:

  • Taylored Expression Ray of Sunshine Die
  • Variety of coordinating papers
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Spellbinders Oval Dies
  • Stamps - The Bicycle is from CMTH Enjoy Like Stamp set.  The other stamps are from Hero Arts.

To make the card, I used the Ray of Sunshine die and with my Cuttlebug, cut it 5 times with different paper.  I then added the frame to a card front.  I then added the pieces to the frame.  The images were stamped, and then cut with an oval Spellbinders die and added to the card.
