Foil left overs made into cards

After having created some great foiled cards, I had left over pieces.  What do do?  Make some cards. Here are the cards:

Card #1:

Card #2:

For the first card, I had some left over Sweet Mango Foil, from foiling a piece of Gina K Elegant Damask paper.  I added the foil to a piece of toner paper.  Once I looked at it I realized it looked very "Halloweeny", so a Halloween card was made.  I used Lawn Fawn Spooktacular stamps and stamped the pumpkin using Sweet Mango ink, and the hat with Memento Black Ink.  Both were colored with Copic markers.  I then cut the image with a Spellbinders Classic Oval die and sponged over it with more Sweet Mango ink.  This was then matted with black.  I colored a bit of ribbon with the ink as well.  The ribbon was added to the foiled piece, then the pumpkin image added to complete the card.

For the second card, I again used toner paper, and foiled with a left over piece of Wild Lilac foil.  With this card, it needed a lighter background, so I then added Heidi Swapp silver foil.  I used one of the Happy Birthday Gina K Foil Mates sentiments.  This was cut using a Simon Says Stamp Square Stitched dies, and foiled with Wild Lilac foil.  It was matted with black paper.  Ribbon and a bow were added to the main foiled piece, and the sentiment added to complete the card.

Art Impressions Watercolor Mothers Day Card.

Here is a card I made with Art Impressions Watercolor Stamps.  I plan on using this one for a Mothers Day card.

I used the following to make the card:

  • Art Impressions Watercolor stamps: WC Containers, Flower Set #4052, Foliage Set #051
  • Distress Markers Picked Raspberry, Pine Needles, Ripe Persimmon, Gathered Twigs, Wilted Violet, Hickory Smoke
  • My Favorite Things Watercolor wash paper
  • Spellbinders Classic Ovals
  • Lawn Fawndementals Fake Tan
  • Close To My Heart Just to Say

To make the cards, I colored the stamps with the Distress Markers, then stamped the images. Water was then added to give a water colored image.  The image was then cut with an oval die.  A piece of the Watercolor Wash paper was cut to slightly smalled than the card base.  The sentiment was then added, using one of the stamps form the Just to Say stamped set, using the Lawn Fawndementals Ink. Ribbon was added.  This was then added to the card base.  The image was then added, using pop dots.  A bow was added to complete the card.

This card was entered in the Art Impressions "Let's Watercolor" Challenge

A Bicycle Father Day Card

Here is a simple card I made for Fathers Day.  This card is 4.25 x 5.5.

I used the following to make the card:

  • Versamark Ink
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Spellbinders Oval Dies
  • Zing Clear Embossing Powder
  • Bicycle Stamp

To make this card, I stamped the Bicycle using Memento Tuxedo Black.  I then cut the image out using a Spellbinders oval die.  Using the next size up of the oval dies, I cut another oval in a coordinating patterned paper. For the card base, I stamped the Bicycle several times in Versamark, added the clear embossing powder and heat set.  The patterned paper oval was added to the card base, and then the Bicycle Oval was added.

My first Shaker Card

I've recently seen many shaker cards and decided to make one.  The card is 5.5 x 4.25.

I used the following to make the card:
  • Mama Elephant Make a Wish stamp set
  • Stampendous Detailed Silver and Gold embossing power
  • Spellbinders circle die
  • Various colored sequins
  • Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars glitter
To make the card:
  1. For the front of the card, cut a piece of patterned paper to 5.5 x 4.25.
  2. Using the Spellbinders circle dies, select a die that is large enough for the stamp.  Decide where to cut the circle on the pattern paper, and cut the circle.
  3. Stamp the sentiment on the card front (I used the pattern paper as a template as to where to stamp)
  4. Back the circle with acetate.
  5. From the Make a Wish stamp set, randomly stamp stars with Versamark, and emboss with gold and silver.
  6. Using foam tape, tape around the circle, making sure that there are no gaps (or the sequins and glitter will fall out!)
  7. I added the sequins and glitter to the card front, making sure that they were clustered around the sentiment
  8. Line up the patterned patter to the front of card and attach it firmly.
  9. Since it seemed that there was more needed to the front of the card, I added some additional sequins.

Christmas Cards 2014 - Card 3

For this card, I used the Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia Die and Embossing folder.

  • Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia Die and Embossing Folder
  • Burlap
  • Stampendous Detailed Gold Embossing Powder
  • Versamark
  • Spellbinders Oval Die
  • Gina K Simple Snowflakes Stamp set
To make the card, I cut the Poinsettia with red, green and gold card stock.  I then embossed the leaves with the coordinating embossing folder, and attached all of the layers.  I cut a small oval with a Spellbinders die, and then stamped with Versamark using a sentiment from the Gina K Designs Simple Snowflake stamp set.  I added the detailed Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.  To finish the card, I added a strip of burlap to the card base, and then attached the poinsettia and sentiment.

Blooms and Blossoms Bird House

For this card, I totally copied one that I saw at:  http://craftingtheweb.blogspot.com/2014/05/weathered-birdhouse-card-making-video.html

I even purchased the stamps just to make this card!  Here is my interpretation of the card.  While I did not have some of the Copic Markers, I used similar colors.

For the card, I used:

  • Copic Markers RV09, RV06, RV02, YG25, E33, E49, E25, N5 and the colorless blender.
  • Blooms and Blossoms Stamp set from Gina K Designs
  • Memento Tuxedo Black and Desert Sand Ink
  • Spellbinders Circle Die
  • Ribbon
To make the card, I followed the directions from the website, substituting colors to what I had on hand.

Stampin' Up Wetlands Card

This is a simple card I made using the sandpipers from the Stampin' Up Wetlands stamp set.  The card was inspired a card I saw on: http://www.rainyboxcrafts.com/2013/08/freshly-made-sketches-99.html

The card is 4 x 5.5 and was made with the following:

  • Stampin' Up Wetlands Stamp set
  • Memento Ink Tuxedo Black
  • Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles
  • Ribbon
To make the card, I first stamped the sandpipers several times on white card stock.  These were then cut using the Spellbinders circle die.  Using green card stock, I then cut matching scalloped circles.  The background paper was actually scraps from other projects.  Ribbon was added to give it a more finished look.

Tulip Card

The tulip stamp for this card is a Greenhouse Society stamp, which I really like.  It can be used to make some great spring/summer themed cards.

This card is 4 x 5.5, and was made with the following:
  • Greenhouse Society Tulip stamp (Technique Tuesday)
  • Recollections Background Stamp
  • Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
  • Spellbinders Oval die
  • Copic Markers, G21, G24, G46, BV00, BV11, BV13
  • Memento Ink Black and London Fog

To make the card, I first stamped the background image using the Recollections stamp and London Fog ink.  I then stamped the tulips on top of the background using the Black ink.

The tulips were then colored with Copic markers.

To assemble the card, I first cut the oval from the center of the purple card stock, then embossed using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  I placed the stamped image centered in the oval and attached it to the card base.

Baby Card

Here is a card that was inspired by several pins on Pinterest (see the original websites at: http://melodylanedesigns.blogspot.com/2014/02/baby-shower-card.html
http://www.gotrubberwillstamp.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html)

The card is 4x5.5,  The background quilt is 4x4, and made up of 1x1 inch squares and triangles.  The quilt was then embossed with Stampin' Up! Houndstooth embossing folder.

The giraffes are from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge, cut at 8" and 5" (real dial size was off - so these cut proportionally).  The baby carriage is from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge, cut at 2 1/4 inches.  The grass is from Martha Stewart Season Cake Art Cartridge, cut at 1 inch.

The scalloped circle for the sentiment was cut from a Spellbinders die.

Halloween/Fall Card

This card is 4 x 5.5, and uses Spellbinders and Elizabeth Craft Designs dies.

The oval and scalloped oval were cut using the largest of the Spellbinders Classic Ovals and the largest of the Classic Scalloped Ovals.

For the base of the pumpkins, I covered a white piece of card stock with Sookwang tape before cutting them out using Elizabeth Craft Design Pumpkins dies.  The base was then covered with Warm Highlight Glitter Ritz was added to the base, and then colored with Copic Markers.  The overlay was cut using dark brown card stock.
