A Glittery Anniversary Card

I've needed a few more Anniversary cards in my stash of cards, so I tried a technique that was new to me, adding glitter over an inked image! Capturing the glitter on the cards was difficult, and the pictures just doesn't show how glittery the card it.

I used the following for the card:
  • Tim Holtz - Doily Stencil
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - Warm Diamond Glitter
  • Ranger - Classic Cherry Die Ink
  • Versamark
  • Stampendous - Detail White Embossing Powder
  • Clearly Besotted - Tiny Type
  • Sookwang - Double Sided Tape
To make the card, the stencil was placed over a piece of white card stock and the Cherry Red ink was added using one of the Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes.  I then added the double sided tape to the image, and covered it with the glitter.  The image was then trimmed and matted with black card stock.  This was added to the card base.  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark, the white embossing powder added and heat set to complete the card.

Glittered Poinsettia

Several years ago, I got both the Poinsettia die and matching embossing folder.  I used it once.  I brought it out again this year to make these cards:

I used the following for the cards:

  • Tim Holtz - Tattered Poinsettia Die and Embossing Folder
  • Sookwang Double Sided tape
  • Glitter Ritz Microfine Glitter - Emerald Green, Champagne
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - Bright Cranberry Microfine Glitter
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - Stand-up Helpers dies
  • Star Form Peel-off stickers - Gold/Silver Lines (#7010), Circles (#7018)
  • Mark Richards Peel-off stickers - Seasons Greetings sentiments

To make the Poinsettia, I added the Sookwang tape to white card stock, and then using the die cut out the layers of the Poinsettia.  The layers were then embossed, using the matching embossing folder.  I removed the protective sheet from the tape, added the glitter and burnished it.  The center of the Poinsettia needed a bit more definition, so some peel-off gold circles were added.  The Poinsettia was assembled using pop-dots between the layers.

To make the card base, I used a top fold A2 sized card (4.25 x 5.5).  I added an additional score line at 2.75" (top side of the card).  On the other side (bottom side of the card) at 2.75 inches from the fold, the stand up feature was added in the center of the card.

The Poinsettia was added a piece of patterned paper which was then matted with card stock in the same color as the card base.  Peel-off stickers were added to the panel which was then added to the bottom portion of the top side of the card.

Below the stand up helper, a piece of the patterned paper (1.75") was added.  Peel-off stickers were added to the top and bottom, and the sentiment added in the middle.  The excess portion of the bottom side of the card was removed.

Deco Foil Birthday Cards

I like that I am usually able to get two cards made when I use foil.  The left over is usable!  These two cards are a sample of this:

I used the following to make the cards:

  • Deco Foil Transfer Gel
  • Deco Foil - Rainbow
  • A Colorful Life - Medallions Stencil
  • Sookwang Double Sided Tape
  • Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings Stamp set
  • Gina K Blue Raspberry Ink
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs  - Cool Diamond Microfine Glitter
For the first card (the one in the front in the picture), the stencil was placed on the card stock, masked to the specific area of the stencil to be used, and the Transfer Gel applied.  The stencil was removed, and once the gel was dry, the foil was added using a Minc machine (any laminator would work).  The panel was trimmed to size, matted with yellow card stock, and added to the card base.  Straight lines were embossed below the panel and the sentiment added to complete the card.

For the second card, Sookwang tape was added to a piece of white card stock.  The left over piece of foil was added to the card stock panel, and I removed the foil backing, exposing the tape in the areas where there was no foil.  Glitter was added and burnished in.  This was then matted with yellow card stock, and added to the card base.  Straight lines were embossed below the panel and the sentiment added to complete the card.

Anniversary and Birthday card with Deco Foil

Another Anniversary card with Deco Foil, a Stencil and Foil.  This is similar to the card I made last week, bust uses a different stencil.  In some ways I like this one better.

I used the "left over" part of the foil to make another card!  The picture for this card captures the look of the foil really good!.

For the Anniversary card, I used:
  • Deco Foil Transfer Gel
  • Deco Foil Amethyst Watercolor Foil
  • Fnnabair (Prima) - Doily Stencil
  • Laser Printer
  • Gina K Small and Large Circle dies
To make the card, I placed the stencil on a piece of white card stock.  The transfer gel was added and the stencil removed.  Once the gel was dry, the foil was added using my Minc machine.  The panel was added to the card base.  The sentiment was printed using a laser printer, cut using the circle die, foiled and matted and added to the card. This sentiment fit perfectly in the center of the card.

For the Birthday card, I used:

  • The left over foil from the Anniversary card
  • Sookwang tape
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - Cool Diamond Microfine Glitter
  • Memento - Lulu Lavender Ink
  • Gina K Designs - You Make Me Happy stamp set
  • Gina K Designs - Small Circle Die
To make the card, I covered a piece of white card stock with the Sookwang double sided tape.  After removing the release paper on the tape, I added the left over foil, making sure it was well adhered.  I then removed the backing for the foil. I could have left it, but I wanted to add glitter, to the areas that were did not have foil.  I added the glitter, burnished it in.  The entire panel was matted and added to a card base.  The sentiment was stamped and then cut with the smallest of the circle dies.  This was added to the card as the last step.

The Anniversary card was entered in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (Wedding/Anniversary)

Easter card with Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel-off stickers and glitter

So, my Easter cards did not get finished until AFTER Easter.  At least I can save them until next year.
Here is a card that I made with Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel-off Stickers and Glitter:

I used the following to make the card:

  • Copic Markers - YG63, B00, V04, V06, E13, E23
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - Silk Microfine Glitter - Cool Diamond
  • Sookwang Tape
  • Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals
  • Pretty Posh Pink - Sugar Plum Mix Sequins
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs - Peel-off Stickers Eggs - #899, Happy Easter - #380
To make the card, I covered a piece of white card stock with the Sookwang tape, removed the release sheet and added the Egg and Stand Peel-off sticker.  Cool diamond glitter was then added to the piece.  Copic Markers were used to color the egg and stand.  These were then fussy cut out and added to the Scalloped Oval.  The entire piece was added to the card base.  The sentiment and sequins added to complete the card.

Another card with Glitter and Lace

For this card, I used the same lace as in my previous card, but changed the colors.  I think for the technique to work, there needs to be a bigger difference in the colors, but my husband thought it looked good, so I made a card with it.

The card is 4.25 x 5.5 and I used the following to make the card:

  • Glitter Ritz Glitter - Java Bean
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter - Bright Cranberry (657)
  • Sookwang Double sided tape
  • Lace
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Happy Birthday Die (1054)
  • Recollections Foil Paper

To make the card, I covered a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of white card stock with the double sided tape.  After peeling off the release sheet, lace was added on top and carefully pressed down onto the tape.  The Java Bean glitter was added and burnished in.  The lace removed and the Bright Cranberry glitter added and burnished in.  I then cut a circle the Happy Birthday with the dies and the foil paper and added it to the card.

Glitter Lace Technique

Here is a card I made using glitter and lace.  I saw this technique on an Elizabeth Craft Designs YouTube video.   I love the look of the final card!

The card is 4.25 x 5.5 and I used the following to make the card:

  • Glitter Ritz Champagne and Warn Highlight
  • Sookwang Double sided tape
  • CTMH Joyful Birthday Occasions Stamp Set
  • Versmark
  • Lace
  • Stampendous Detailed Gold Embossing Powder
  • Spellbinders Standard Circles Dies
To make the card, I covered a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of white card stock with the double sided tape.  After peeling off the release sheet, lace was added on top and carefully pressed down onto the tape.  The Champagne glitter was added and burnished in.  The lace removed and the Warm Highlight glitter added and burnished in.  I then cut a circle from the glittered card stock, and added the glittered card stock to the front of a top fold card base.  The sentiment was stamped inside the circle with Versamark and the Gold Embossing powder added and heat set to complete the card.

Birthday Card using Stand Up Helper from Elizabeth Craft Designst

Here is a birthday card I made using several products from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The card is 4.25 x 5.5.

  • Spellbinders Oval Die
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Candle Peel-off Sticker in Black 2545

  • Sookwang Double sided tape

To make the card, I added the Sookwang tape to white card stock, exposed the adhesive and added the candle peel-off stickers.  Warm Highlight glitter was added and then the candles colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut out. Using another piece of white card stock, I added Sookwang tape, and die cut the oval and the Happy Birthday Stand Up helper.  After exposing the adhesive, Warm Highlight Glitter was added to both pieces.  The candles were added to the oval, and the Happy Birthday was added over the Happy Birthday cut into the card base.  A piece of Shimmer Sheets was embossed and sanded a bit.  The oval with the candles was added on top of the embossed Shimmer Sheets.  The card was then assembled,
