National Parks Cross Stitch

For Christmas I got Stitching Across America: 63 Teeny Weeny Cross Stitch Patterns Celebrating U.S. National Parks by Lior Zochovizky as a gift.  I enjoy doing small cross stitch or needlepoint projects from the places I have visited, and now I'll have several small projects to work on for each of the National Parks I have visited.

I chose to do Mammoth Cave as the first project.  Mainly because I had all of the floss needed!

Poinsettia Christmas Cards in February!

So I am getting ahead on making Christmas cards by using the Grand Poinsettia 3D embossing folder.  I have had so many ideas for using this embossing folder.  

Idea 1 - use the overlay foil and poly glaze 
Idea 2 - use double stick tape and Dazzle Dust glitter
Idea 3 - use Zig Clean color markers

Ocean City Boardwalk Cross Stitch

For our 40th Wedding Anniversary, my husband and I spent a long weekend at Ocean City Md.  Ocean City was special to us since its where we spent our Honeymoon. I stopped by the Salty Yarn Needlework store and picked up this cute cross stitch pattern by Greeneframe Ltd.  I changed the wording to match our special weekend!

Foxy Valentine

This is the Valentines card I made for my husband.  It was heavily based on a card made by Gina K in one of her videos.

I used the following for the card:

• Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 2 and 4, Ornate Frame
• Gina K Designs - A Paper Hug Stamps and Dies
• Copic Markers - R24, R32, E21, E23, E25
• Memento - Tuxedo Black ink

To make the card, the ornate fame was cut from red card stock.  The stitched rectangle and stitched heart were cut from white card stock, with the mats cut from black card stock.  The ornate frame was attached to the white rectangle then attached to the black mat. and added to the card base.  The sentiment was stamped on the white heart, and the heart attached to the mat and the entire piece added to the ornate frame.  The foxes were stamped on white card stock, colored with Copic markers, and die cut.  They were added to the heart with foam squares to add a bit of dimension.  Vinyl dots were added to complete the card.
