In my Thoughts - Serene Branches

I got this idea from one of Gina K Designs videos.  I didn't have the embossing folders she used, so I used one that I have had for a while.  I thought that the branches would look interesting against a wood grained background.

I used the following for the card:
  • Gina K Designs - Serene Branches 3D Embossing Folder and Stencils
  • Gina K Designs - Delicate Dahlias Stamps and Dies
  • Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 1 and 2
  • Gina K Designs = Kraft, Warm Cocoa, Tranquil Teal, Christmas Pine, Kelly Green, Dark Chocolate, Coral Reef, Charcoal Brown, White Pigment Inks

To make the card,  I created a wood grained background, and then embossed it using the Serene Branches 3D Embossing folder.  To make the image stand out, white pigment ink was used with the stencils.  The color was then added over the white ink.  The panel was die cut using Master Layouts 2, along with the mat.  I decided it needed another mat layer, so it was cut using Master Layouts 1.  All of these pieces were added to the card base.  The sentiment was stamped on Kraft card stock, first using white pigment ink, then Coral Reef ink.  The sentiment was die cut and added to complete the card.

Another Poinsettia card

So I had yet another idea to try with the Grand Poinsettia 3D Embossing Folder from Gina K Designs.  This time it was to add Gold ink to the edges of each leaf.  Here is how the card turned out:

I used the following to make the card:

  • Gina K Designs - Grand Poinsettia 3D Embossing Folder and Dies
  • Gina K Designs - Merry Christmas and Shadow Die
  • Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 1
  • Altenew - Ultimate Metallic Gold Ink

To make the card, I die cut then embossed the Poinsettia flower from white card stock, the pine sprigs from green card stock, Merry Christmas from white card stock and the shadow from rose gold paper. The gold ink was lightly rubbed over the Poinsettia flower to add ink to the raised portions of the flower.  Master Layouts was used to die cut the pink panel and rose gold mat.  Assembly of the card was simple, just add all of the elements to the card base!
