Thank you card

For this card, I tried another of the Bokeh techniques that Gina K had recently demonstrated in one of her videos.  I didn't get the expected look, but I liked the end result!  Here is the card made with this background:

I used the following for the card:

• Gina K Designs - Lucky Clover, Turquoise Sea, Wild Wisteria, Black Onyx inks
• Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 2
• Gina K Designs - Thanks and Shadow dies

To make the card, a piece of white paper was cut using the stitched rectangle from Master Layouts 2. A teal mat was also cut using the larger rectangle.  The stencil was inked with the various inks and then lightly misted.  The white cardstock was then added. This is the step where I didn't get the expected look. So, after the paper dried, I used the same stencil and inks and added some additional circles.  It was looking better!  I then lightly added some additional color using blending brushes.  The end result looked great!  I was glad I didn't give up on it early on.  I added the panel to the mat, and the entire piece to the card base.  I cut the thanks and shadow and attached these to the card.  The sentiment was then added to complete the card.

Thinking of You

Gina K recently did a video on different Bokeh techniques using stencils.  I decided to try my hand at it, and this card is one of the results!

I used the following to make the card:

To make the card I cut a white piece of paper with the stitched rectangle from Master Layouts 2.  The black mat was cut using the larger rectangle from the same set.  On the white piece of paper, I placed 1/2 inch masking strips along the edges.  Using the stencil, I added the various inks. The stencil was removed, and using a blending brush, the area was lightly inked.  The masking strips were removed and the silhouette was stamped.  The sentiment was added next.  The panel was then added to the blackmat and the entire piece to the card base to complete the card.

Birthday Bouquet (Gina K Designs)

I really liked a card that Gina K did on one of her videos, so much that I made the same card using the same colors!  

I used the following for the card:

• Gina K Designs - Ink - Light, Medium and Dark Lilac; Light, Medium and Dark Orchid; Light, Medium and Dark Spruce; Sweet Mango; Tomato Soup; White
• Gina K Designs - Master Layouts 2
• Clearly Besotted - Tiny Type Stamp set

To make the card, 2 panels were cut to 4.25x5.5.  On the first panel, the light colors were used with the stencil.  On the second panel, the medium and dark colors were used with the stencil.  A section of the dark panel was cut with the small rectangle die from Master Layouts 2.  This was mounted on the associated black mat (also cut from ML 2).  This piece was then added to the light color panel using foam squares making sure to align the pattern.  A sentiment was stamped in white on black card stock and added to complete the card.  

 

Teddy Bear Birthday Card

Here is a card I made for a one year old boy!  For this card I made use of my Cricut and the designs available in Cricut Design Space.  I used the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Embossing folder for the background.  

Kendra's Card Challenge #12 Christmas Cards

Love and Sunflowers

Its amazing the difference a black border and slightly darker color flower center makes between these cards!  One is subtle and the other is bold.  I like both!

To make the cards I used the following:

To make the cards, I cut a piece of white card stock with Master Layouts 1, along with a black mat.  A heart was cut in the center with Master Layouts 4 and embossed using the Petite Flourish Embossing folder. For card 2 a smaller heart was cut from black card stock.  On another piece of white card stock the flowers were stamped (I made sure they would fit within the cutout heart!).  For card 1 the embossed panel was added to the stamped panel, and then matted with the black cardstock.  For card 2 the black heart panel was added to the stamped panel followed by the embossed panel, and then matted with the black panel.  The piece was then added to a white card base.  I made yellow card stock by adding Sweet Corn ink to white card stock and then die cut it with the "Love" die The shadow was cut in black.  These were then attached to the card base to complete the card.

Love (simply stated)

This card is based on one that I recently saw on either Facebook or Instagram, I can't remember which and of course I didn't save the information!  Its a very simply stated card!

To make the card, I cut a piece of white card stock with Master Layouts 1.  The mat was cut using a red foil paper.  The white panel was then embossed with the Petite Flourish Embossing Folder and added to the red foil mat and then to a white card base.  "Love" was cut from white card stock, while the shadow was cut from red foil.  These were attached to each other and then added to the card base to complete the card.
