Perfect Pearls, Distress Ink and Embossing

Recently, I saw a technique at
http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2015/08/video-faux-textured-metal-paper-giveaway.html and knew I had to give it a try.  Here are my results:

And some close up views of each card:

These were fun cards to make, and I can see me making several more!

I used the following to make the cards:

  • Tim Holtz Celebration Words Dies were used for all of the sentiments
  • Blue Card:
    • Distress Ink - Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch
    • Perfect Pearls - Perfect Pearl
    • We are Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folders - Geometric
    • Sequins
  • Orange Card:
    • Distress Ink - Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey
    • Perfect Pearls - Perfect Gold
    • We are Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folders - Gemstone
    • Sequins
  • Purple Card:
    • Distress Ink - Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet
    • Perfect Pearls - Perfect Pearl
    • We are Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folders - Gemstone
  • Red Card:
    • Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick
    • Perfect Pearls - Perfect Gold
    • We are Memory Keepers Next Level Embossing Folders - Geometric
    • Hearts Confetti
To make the cards:
  1. Mask the edges of 4.25  x 5.5 of white card stock (I used Neenah Solar White 80lb).
  2. In the center area, starting with the lightest color, I sponged on the distress ink, then added the darker color blending well
  3. I trimmed the card stock slightly
  4. Each piece was then embossed using the embossing folders
  5. The sentiments were die cut from black card stock and added to the image
  6. The images were then added to the card bases
  7. Sequins/confetti were added to the cards (except for the purple one - I've order some for this card)
